MEET OUR TEAM

George Guido, Managing Partner

Determined. Generous. Relentless.

George has practiced in the area of family law for the past 12 years including: divorce, paternities, child custody and parenting time, child support modifications, adoptions, and guardianships. He is also the general counsel for Fort Wayne Fire Department Union, IAFF Local 124, and handles issues dealing with union and municipal law related matters.

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, George relocated to Fort Wayne as a teenager and has lived here ever since. He earned his B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Business and Philosophy from Indiana University and completed his J.D. at The Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Philosophy played an important role in his education and how he practices law, “Philosophy is the framework of our thoughts and perspectives. It exposes our strengths and weaknesses.”

What brings George to the office every day are the people he works with—clients and co-workers alike. He enjoys the “human” aspect of his work and looks forward to helping as many people as possible in as many ways as possible. When approaching family law, George works to focus on positive outcomes, specifically, he believes "We often make the mistake in believing domestic relations litigation is a matter of 'Us' versus 'Them', because in family law, winning often comes at another expense, oftentimes, a child." A positive outcome should include one that is good for children too.

There is no such thing as “business hours” for George.  The future expansion and growth of the firm and its involvement in the community is a daily priority for him. Outside of work George is part of a vast array of organizations: the Building Contractor’s Association, the Allen County and Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. In his free time, he runs, travels, reads, and spends time with his wife, son, and daughter. Cross-fit and ultra-marathons have become his favorite hobbies and provide a way for him to de-stress, clear his mind, and remind himself that we are capable of achieving anything we set our minds on.

Brian E. Stier, Of Counsel Attorney

Honest. Forthright. Fair.

Brian has practiced law, primarily family law, since being admitted in Indiana in 1985.  From January 1, 1987, until December 31, 2021, he ran his own firm, Stier Family Law.  Now retired from practicing family law, Brian focuses solely on family law mediation.  As an of counsel attorney at the firm, Brian also serves as a mentor and coach for the staff and attorneys.  He looks forward to the potential growth of the firm, and its capacity to do good for so many people truly in need of legal guidance and strong advocacy.

Born in Fort Wayne, Brian has lived here his entire life, except while pursuing his JD at Thomas Cooley Law School, in Lansing, Michigan.  He received his undergraduate degree in business administration/marketing from Indiana University at IPFW.  His favorite class as an undergraduate was anthropology, but it was a class in business law that set the trajectory for his career in law.  After his many years as a lawyer, two things still bring him to work every day.  The first is working with genuine, capable professionals.  The second is his drive to mediate and settle disputes between parties, not just for their sake, but for the benefit of their children.

Brian does not have any children but helped raise the children of his partner, Lynn, a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools.  He now enjoys being a grandfather to four beautiful, wonderful girls.  Brian is the past chair of the Allen County Democratic party (1995-2001), and currently serves on the board of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Government.  He loves spending time with his dog, Bentley, traveling, and planning trips.  His favorite destination is Michigan, especially Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Mackinac Island.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Richard was raised in Peoria, Illinois.  He attended Indiana University Bloomington, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice.  His favorite undergraduate course was Industrial-Organizational Psychology.  Richard received his JD from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis, in 2020.

Richard enjoys building relationships with other members of the Guido Law Office team, getting to know clients, and understanding their legal needs.  Helping clients with those needs and making a positive impact on the community are a few factors that motivate Richard to come to work every day.

Outside of the office, Richard is very involved in Fort Wayne’s pickleball community and is a member of Fort Wayne Pickleball, Inc.  When he has time, he also enjoys playing golf.

Loyal. Compassionate. Persistent.

As a paralegal, Shelly brings to the firm years of experience in all aspects of the family law practice.  She began her legal career with Stier Family Law in 1990.  She looks forward to continuing her career at Guido Family Law, and being part of the firm's vision for future growth.

Shelly was born in Paulding, Ohio, and has lived most of her life in the Antwerp, Ohio area.  A graduate of Antwerp Local Schools, she received a certificate in administrative/business sciences from International Business College.  She still enjoys the opportunity to learn more about technology, having seen many changes in the practice of law.  Shelly enjoys coming to the office to work with the team in the family law area and build the camaraderie that is needed to serve the firm's clients.  She likes the challenge of helping clients maneuver what most likely is one of the most difficult situations they will face in life.

Shelly has two, grown children, and is a proud grandmother of five.  She enjoys painting, when the mood strikes, and is working on a painting for her office.  She is an avid college football fan, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. She also enjoys crime documentaries.  Along with her husband, she spends time fishing, camping, and tending their salsa garden, during spring, summer, and early fall.  During the winter months, they enjoy trips to Michigan for snowmobiling.

Matthew Robinson, Business Manager
Ambitious. Adventurous. Articulate.

Matthew joined the firm in 2019.  As Business Manager, his responsibilities include evaluating and managing the Firm’s operating and information systems; assisting the Accountant in overseeing the Firm’s financial functions; assisting in the marketing of the Firm’s legal services and client development activities.

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, he moved to Fort Wayne in 2015. He pursued his undergraduate degree, in pre-law, at Indiana Institute of Technology and captained their varsity soccer team. His favorite subject was philosophy, as it challenges your nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.

“I love working in a field that is ever-changing and fluid, every day is different, and provides an opportunity to build a new relationship and help navigate a client through unchartered waters. It brings me a sense of worth knowing that we help people repair and rebuild their lives.”

Matthew is currently enrolled at Purdue Fort Wayne pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration. This will allow him to grow within the firm moving toward a more operational and firm administrative role. He is currently managing the implementation of a new time, billing, and accounting software for the firm.

Away from the office, he spends his time with his fiance, and friends, making the most of all Fort Wayne has to offer. You can find him at the gym, on the soccer field, golf course, or JK O’Donnell’s. Whatever the weather permits!

Micah Madaras,
Legal Assistant

Proactive. Understanding. Responsive.

Micah started with the firm in 2019 as a Receptionist and Client Concierge. Her outgoing nature was a perfect fit as the first point of contact with clients. In 2022 she was promoted to the position of Legal Assistant, where she provides direct support for the firm’s legal personnel.

Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Micah now lives in Fort Wayne and is attending Indiana University—Fort Wayne School of Nursing. Her favorite topic of study is evidence-based practice and areas for improvement within healthcare. The challenge of understanding these concepts is what drives her to learn more.

Micah enjoys coming to the office every day to build relationships with other members of the office and clients. Getting to know people, assist them, and learn about their lives is part of what drives her and inspires her to go to nursing school. She is looking forward to establishing relationships with clients and helping as many people as possible along the way.

When she is not at the office, she enjoys reading and playing with her daughter. She also takes interest in refinishing furniture and woodworking projects with her fiance, Lee.
